Delph’s double delight

CRICKET: THERE was double delight for Delph in the Drakes Huddersfield League Premiership.
Yesterday the Huddersfield Road men defeated Slaithwaite by four wickets. Replying to Slaithwaite's 50-over 178 for eight (Wasim Qasim took four for 49), Delph scored 179 for six.
And there were plenty of runs on Saturday as Delph got the better of struggling Skelmanthorpe.
Batting first, Delph scored a huge 287 for six with Andy Gleave smashing a super 103 and Buckley 72.
In reply, Skelmanthorpe stuttered to 185 for nine.
WOODHOUSES picked up just a single point as they fell to defeat against Woodbank in the Greene King Lancashire County League.
The visitors to Belfield batted first and racked up an impressive 241 for five. 'Houses could only reply with 189 for eight.
Woodhouses made it four straight wins on Saturday as they saw off hosts Stretford at Lesley Road.
The visitors took first knock, scoring 222 for nine. Stretford were then bowled out for 147.
