ANGLING: SEASONED veteran Martin Taylor was in great form again as his win in Sunday’s Todmorden AS open match on the Summit and Dead lengths of the Rochdale Canal was his fourth in just over a week.

Drawn on the Summit length, as were all the leading weights, Taylor fished method feeder, worm, caster and corn to catch himself five good bream and a carp that together weighed 26lb 5oz.

Matrix team-mate Gary Smith also fished the method feeder, but decided on meat as his bait and it worked well for two carp and a solitary chub that together weighed 18lb 10oz.

Pete Mottram continued his good form in the Todmorden AS Tuesday match on Townhouse as he fished long pole and worm up and down in the water to catch 35lb 11oz of carp. Steve Hall took second with his 30lb 11oz of carp falling to long pole and caster.

Taylor won the earlier Diggle AC match on Tanner’s Dam with 12lb 14oz of silvers taken on caster and maggot fished shallow on peg 13. Mike Henshaw was second with another all silvers net that fell to pole-fished maggot.

Todmorden AS’s next Tuesday match is on July 14 at Townhouse.

SATURDAY’S Old Hough Farm open was won by Darren Mulheir, with his 95lb 13oz net consisting of f1s and carp that all fell to pellet fished shallow at 14 metres and method feeder cast tight to the island.

Ray Rigby was second with 95lb 6oz of mirrors and commons that fell to meat and corn fished tight into the nearside margins.

Section winners were Tri-Cast club-mates Ken Potts and Ken Power.

DAVE Ireland topped the latest Twingate AC evening match on the club water, with chopped worm and caster fished shallow accounting for his 9lb 14oz catch of ide, roach and skimmers.

Regular winner Steve Baines again made the frame, netting himself second on the night with similar tactics catching 7lb 9oz of skimmers, roach and ide.

CONRAD Taylor took top spot in Saturday’s Medlock Bridge AC open match on the Park Lake with his 21lb 1oz catch including ten f1s and a decent bream. Organiser Darren Webb had loads of bites, with his second-best effort offering a 20lb 3oz net.
