New lease safeguards Chaddy’s future

FOOTBALL: AN historic deal with the council has given Chadderton FC a new 35-year lease.
The local authority believes the club plays an important role in the area and was keen to make it more secure.
Chaddy sesss the deal as a chance to develop its squads and support the community. Councillor Barbara Brownridge, cabinet member for neighbourhoods and co-operatives, said: “We know the important role sporting clubs play in our communities around the borough and Chadderton FC are fantastic ambassadors for their own area and neighbouring districts. This lease gives volunteers, staff, fans and players peace of mind.”
Chaddy chairman Bob Sopel added: “The committee have worked their socks off and the club has already spent money on improving the clubhouse, stand and fencing. This lease enables us to build on our foundations and safeguards the club’s future for generations to come. These are exciting times for the club
