ANGLING: CHRIS Lett continued his good run in the Todmorden AS members-only matches with victory on Townhouse.

His long pole, worm and caster approach worked well as he netted himself first place with 42lb 6oz of decent-sized carp. Paul Wilkinson was just a small fish behind, with pole and pellet accounting for his second-place 41lb 3oz catch of carp.

Big fish again dominated the latest of the Todmorden AS open matches on the Summit length of the Rochdale Canal, with Paul Wilkinson taking top spot with his bomb and meat approach netting him a trio of carp plus a bream that took his weight to 15lb 4oz. Geoff Mallinder was second, again big fish making up his 9lb 9oz net. The next Todmorden AS trophy match is this Sunday on Townhouse.

JOE Rowan claimed a narrow victory in the latest of the Medlock Bridge AC Saturday open matches on the Park Lake. His pole and maggot tempted four big f1s and a few skimmers that together weighed 10lb 12oz. Pete Cuniffe continued his great form with a second-best 9lb 3oz net of small roach and skimmers on hemp and caster.

With the Golden peg prize not won, organiser Darren Webb added it to the pools money in the last of the Monday evening matches on the Park Lake, which meant winner Pete Cuniffe’s match-winning 10lb 4oz of roach, perch, chub and skimmers saw him take home £150. John Jones had to settle for second, but his 9lb 8oz gave him £115.

DAVE Ireland strolled into first place in the latest of the Twingate AC matches on the club water, with chopped worm and caster fished on the deck the method used for 11lb 6oz of skimmers and ide.

Wayne Neal was second with 7lb 6oz of skimmers and roach.
