UP FOR GRABS . . . Pro League skipper Qaisar Abbas (left) and ONQ captain Gharib Razak, watched by their team-mates, get their hands on the trophy before the final at Hollinwood.
CRICKET: THE culmination of two and a half weeks of high-class cricket at Hollinwood saw Bradford outfit ONQ overcome Pro League Sports by six wickets.
The final of the tournament, which raised money for Hollinwood CC, saw Pro League bat first and make 125 for six from their 20 overs. ONQ reached their target for the loss of four wickets, with three overs to spare.
Abid Riaz, one of the organisers of the tournament, said: “Originally it was going to be a floodlit tournament with two games a night, but the floodlights weren’t up standard and we had to play one match a night and stretch it out. About 150-200 people were watching every night.
“We had some former Test and one-day players from Pakistan, as well as some of the West Indies boys and English too. It was a big success.”
