FOOTBALL:
MOSSLEY’S troubling run of Evo-Stik League Division One North defeats continued with a 1-0 defeat at the hands of struggling Prescot Cables.
The Seel Park faithful were stunned when Cables’ sub Lloyd Dean pounced to score the winning goal with only five minutes remaining of a dismal game. The Lilywhites have now lost their last five games.
They return to action on Saturday with a tricky-looking trip to Ossett Town.
Meanwhile, Mossley have re-signed former Macclesfield Town central defender Michael Thomas four years after his first stint at Seel Park.
CHADDERTON were also stunned by a late goal as their home North-West Counties League First Division clash against Litherland REMYCA ended 1-1.
Chaddy looked to be on course to register another important win after Macauley Harewood fired them ahead on the hour mark. But Litherland bagged a stoppage-time equaliser through John Cheetham. Mid-table Chaddy travel to Eccleshall on Saturday.
