Angling: CHRIS Lett made it two wins out of two in the Todmorden AS teams of three league on Croft Fishery and the Rochdale Canal.

Drawing Croft’s peg 25, Lett again targeted the venue’s many carp with the pole, pellet, tip and sweetcorn combination for a superb 49lb 11oz. Rob McKendry had to settle for second best with a 42lb 2oz catch of carp on the long pole and soft pellet.

The canal section saw Martin Taylor (Halifax Matrix) bag first place with three bream and a carp. He opted for worm and caster fished long on the pole which added up to 6lb 11oz. Jim Newsham (Todmorden AS) was the runner-up, with plenty of small roach weighing 2lb 13oz.

ALEXANDRA Park Lake proved a tough nut to crack, with just two anglers weighing in. Geoff Dawson led the way with a 3lb 8oz net made up of lots of small roach and skimmers, while John Parker needed a solitary chub for 1lb 12oz and second place.

KEN Power (Tri-Cast Highfield) continued his rich form by collecting another win at Field Farm Fishery.

He weighed in 12lb 9oz of skimmers and small mirror carp on the pole and maggot.

IN the Big Beam Lake match at Field Farm Fishery, Andy Lawrence topped a low-weight affair with a 5lb catch of roach and skimmers on bread punch down the track. Power was second with three skimmers and some small perch at 4lb 10oz.

TONY Simcock took first place in the latest of the Twingate OAP matches on the bottom lodge.

He caught 6lb 6oz of silvers. Previous week’s winner Peter Hill had to settle for second with 4lb 7oz.
