Mossley at home after dramatic Easter
Date published: 01 April 2016
GOALS, red cards and penalties — it was an Easter few will forget in a hurry at Mossley.
It began with an astonishing finale at home to Harrogate when the Lilywhites scored three injury-time goals to win 5-3.
On Bank Holiday Monday, Mossley conceded three penalties and had two players sent off in a 5-1 defeat by Glossop North End.
The upshot of the weekend was little chance of the Seel Park club reaching the Evo-Stik Division One North play-offs. Despite their indifferent form, joint bosses Peter Band and Lloyd Morrison won’t want Mossley’s campaign to peter out and they are sure to have their charges fully wound-up for the visit of Lancaster City tomorrow.
The hosts are 11th in the table, 12 points behind the last play-off place. Lancaster are seventh, only six points behind fifth-placed Northwich Victoria.
FRESH from putting six past Atherton RL on Easter Monday, Chadderton FC will be hoping for more of the same when they welcome Ashton Town in the North-West Counties League tomorrow (3pm).
The Broadway outfit is 14th in Division One, while visitors are three places away from the play-offs
