HIGH FLYER . . . Oldham’s Will Mellor dives over to score a try.
WILL Mellor claimed the player of the year award at Oldham Rugby Union Club's end-of-season presentation night.
The scrum-half picked up the Kershaw Trophy from club president Barry Jones for his exploits in the Manor Park side's return to the North Lancashire and Cumbria Division.
And to cap a great night for Mellor, he also received the players' player of the year gong, the William Fox Trophy.
Back row Lewis North was handed the Terry Hurst Trophy for young player of the year.
Keen volunteer Keith Chadwick had two reasons to celebrate as well.
After being presented with the 'red tie' award for worker of the year, the prop received the second team captain's honour.
Prop Jordan McEwan was the first XV's captain's pick, while prop Brent Pollitt was the third team captain's main man for 2015-16.
The president's choice - 'red tie' award - was Rob Goodinson, who helps out around the club on match days and non-match days, and Jon Maslen was the Lancashire RFU volunteer award-winner.
