MAZY RUN ... Patrick Toft of Waterhead tries to break free.
WATERHEAD Warriors sustained some serious second-half damage as they were seen off 56-24 by high-flying Woolston Rovers.
The Peach Road outfit, coached by Dave Orwell, were well in the contest as the half-time whistle blew in the Kingstone Press National Conference League Division Three match-up.
But a manageable 16-12 deficit grew to become insurmountable in the second half, with Woolston running home an additional 40 points to keep hold of second spot.
Peter Davies continued his scoring run for Waterhead, who also registered tries through Matthew Barran, Pat Toft and Ciaran Dean, with Terry Fitzgerald kicking four goals.
Woolston's points came through tries from Ryan Brown, Chris Mellor, Sean Conway, Sam Vernon and Jake Bennicke, with Will Chadwick adding seven goals.
In the same division, Oldham St Anne's lost 36-8 to Dewsbury Moor on Friday night.
Craig Worrall got both of Saints' tries, but the Dewsbury side were always in control. James Delaney (two), Brad Samme (two), Bartley O'Brien and Jordan Foster crossed, while James Eatherley also touched down and kicked four goals.
Saddleworth Rangers were edged out in a tight clash at Bradford Dudley Hill, losing 22-16 in Division Two.
The home side lost Andrew Walker to a red card after 35 minutes for alleged punching - Rangers' James Whalley spent time in the sin-bin for the same incident - and went 6-4 down thanks to the first of two tries for Gavin Dodd, Ben Whitehead converting.
Damian Smith had opened the scoring for Dudley Hill and Lewis Evans' try and a Simon Sewell goal gave the hosts a 10-6 lead at the interval.
Dodd and Tom Dransfield put Rangers back in front, Whitehead adding another goal, but Smith went over twice more and Neil Wall made the points safe for Dudley Hill.
