DELPH crossed off number two off their potential dream Drakes Huddersfield League trophy treble yesterday as they won the Sykes Cup in some style.

Just a week after securing the Twenty20 Trophy, Andrew Gleave's men took on Shepley in the Sykes Cup showpiece at Honley cricket club, and won by eight wickets.

Shepley opted to take first knock in bright and breezy conditions, but Lancashire youngster Nathan Jones proved to be in inspired form with the ball, taking four wickets for 23 as the Yorkshire outfit were dismissed for just 108.

Delph then wasted little time in securing the silverare for the first time since 2012, scoring 112 for the loss of only two wickets as Chris Laker top-scored with 69. Shreevats Goswami added 23 as Delph roared on to yet another glorious win.

The Huddersfield Road men remain unbeaten in all competitions so far this season.

On Saturday, Delph eased to a two-wicket Premiership victory against struggling Shelley.

Shelley took first knock and were bowled out for 131, largely thanks to Nathan Jones' superb five for 21 haul.

The table-toppers didn't have it all their own way in reply, however, as Delph made it to 135 for eight. Chris Laker top-scored with 65.

WOODHOUSES' recent good form in Greater Manchester League Division One continued with a 50-run win at Astley and Tyldesley.
