MOSSLEY cruised to a 4-0 victory in their FA Cup preliminary round tie against Hemsworth Miners Welfare at Seel Park.
The Lilywhites have had a miserable record in this competition in recent seasons, but there was never any danger of an upset as the Yorkshire visitors were comprehensively dispatched.
Strikers Mike Fish and Dougie Carroll fired Mossley two goals clear inside the opening 20 minutes.
Hemsworth rarely threatened, but it wasn't until the 89th and 90th minutes when Mossley added some gloss to the scoreline courtesy of late strikes from Kyle McGonigle and Fish.
The Lilywhites will now play in the FA Cup first qualifying stage on Saturday, September 3.
CHADDERTON fell to a dramatic 5-3 home defeat against Atherton LR in the Hallmark Security League First Division.
Andy Miller scored four goals for the visitors, a tally which included two penalties.
Luke Heron, ex-Athletic striker Jack Tuohy and Matthew Chilton scored for Chaddy, while Dave Moore added a fifth for Atherton.
