UPDATED: Man in serious condition in hospital after cutting incident

The scene at Anchor Street at 12.30pm.
Neighbours described the bloody scene as a man cut himself badly in Oldham after allegedly being threatened with eviction.
It appears the man injured himself after officers attended a flat just after 11am today (Tuesday) close to the Anchor Street Community Centre on Oldham Edge.
Police and an ambulance were called to the scene.
An eyewitness said: "I saw the man being escorted from the flat with blood on his neck.
"Apparently he was upset when he was told he was going to be evicted.
"After they told him what was happening, he cut his throat."
Another neighbour revealed that the man was well known on the estate.
A statement from Greater Manchester Police read: "Shortly before 11:10am on Tuesday, May 8, police were called to Anchor Street to reports of concern for the welfare of a man.
"Emergency services attended and a man who was bleeding heavily was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital for treatment.
"He remains there in a serious condition."
There is not believed to be any other person involved in this incident.
