Armed officers respond to reports of man with a firearm in Failsworth

Police have confirmed that they sent armed officers to an area of Failsworth after reports of a man walking around the streets with a firearm.
Officers were called to Hughes Close, in the Moston Bank area, at around 7pm last night (Wednesday) after reports of a man shooting at trees.
When they arrived, the gunman had fled.
Locals reported seeing a massive police presence in the area around the time of the incident with armed officers being spotted around Failsworth Metrolink tram stop.
There have been no reports of any injuries with police still searching for the gunman.
