Oldham Scouts hosted an ‘Iftar under the Stars’ event
For the fifth consecutive year, Oldham Scouts hosted an ‘Iftar under the Stars’ event.
The local event included over 200 attendees from a variety of different backgrounds.
The Scouts Association have held exciting events up and down the UK to celebrate the breaking of the fast during Ramadan, with a scouting activity-filled evening and meal called Iftar.
Some of the activities scouts got involved in were things such as popcorn making, campfires, kite flying and even earning the ‘my faith’ scout badge.
The aim of the events are to show exactly what Ramadan is about, as well as pushing for a unified community.
Nisbah Hussain, of the Muslim Scout Fellowship, said: “This was a fantastic event.
"Each iftar is very different, but they all aim to showcase to you the benefits of scouting to new communities and families.
"You can get involved in the activities on show at each event, and it offers a perfect insight into what it is like in both scouting and the Muslim community."
