Police are appealing for information after a fight in Royton left several people injured.

Shortly after 10.30pm on Saturday, May 26, 2018, police were called to reports of a disturbance on Sandy Lane in Royton.

A group of people were contained within the confines of the beer garden at the Hope and Anchor public house when a large scale disturbance broke out.

Shortly before the group dispersed and gathered outside the premises on either side of the road, a man from the group left and got into a small silver car, which moments later was involved in a collision with a number of people who were left with multiple injuries.

A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and has been bailed pending further enquiries.

Detective Inspector Ian Harratt of GMP’s Oldham borough, said: “This was a dispute between a group of people that escalated and sadly, left a number of innocent people injured.

“We believe this was an isolated incident and while we have made an arrest, our investigation into how this situation unfolded continues.

“It’s absolutely vital that we hear from people who were at the pub that night and saw the disturbance or the collision, so please get in touch if you haven’t already.

“You can speak to our local team on 0161 856 9033 and share any information you have, no matter how small you think it may be.”

Reports can also be made anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
