The 42-year-old man, who has formally been identified as Marvin Coley, was taken to hospital where he sadly died as a result of his serious head injury.

Police Constable Paul Hailwood, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with Marvin’s family at this difficult time as they face the loss of their loved one.

“It’s for them that we need to find witnesses who can help our investigation into how this collision happened, to find the answers they deserve.
