Crash victim suffered life-threatening injuries

Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious collision in Moston.

At around 7:35pm on Tuesday, July 10, police were called to the junction of Moston Lane East and Broadway to reports of a collision between a VW Up and a VW Caddy.

Officers attended and found the 75-year-old woman who was driving the VW Up with serious injuries.

She was taken to hospital for treatment but her health his since deteriorated and she is now in a life-threatening condition.

The occupants of the VW Caddy fled the scene prior to police attendance.

Further enquiries have established that the VW Up was travelling on Moston Lane East and was turning onto Broadway when it was involved in a collision with the VW Caddy.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

PC Paul Shore, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this collision or anybody with information that they believe can assist.

“We would be particularly interested in speaking with anyone who may have dashcam footage of the events leading up to the collision or the events that followed.

“This collision has left a woman in a life threatening condition and we need to establish the exact circumstances of what has happened.”
