Council will be flexible with its Time-wise

Oldham Council has been awarded ‘Timewise’ official accreditation

Oldham Council has secured a new accreditation for its support for flexible working, becoming the first council in Greater Manchester to do so.

Last June, the borough announced a partnership with flexible working experts, Timewise.

Now, one year on the borough has been awarded ‘Timewise’ official accreditation, on the basis of its commitment to increasing opportunities for flexible working, within the council and the local community.

Cllr Abdul Jabbar, Deputy Leader of Oldham Council, said: “We’re always looking at ways to improve the services we offer to Oldham residents and one key thing to recognise is that demands on our services are changing rapidly.

“Smartphones and other technology have totally changed consumer behaviour and expectations so becoming more flexible is vital.

“We’ve worked hard with Timewise to put a plan in place and this work will make us more flexible from role design, recruitment and working practices to supporting local businesses to consider the benefits of flexibility.”   

Timewise help organisations improve their performance and productivity as well as adapting their recruitment processes in order to unlock more roles to flexible working.

They also work with and are endorsed by the Local Government Association.

They have a proven track record of working with both public and private sector organisations, including 25 councils nationwide.
