Oldham Live - Spark and Tiger-S added to amazing free festival bill

Date published: 21 August 2018

Two new acts are joining the Oldham Live line-up as the final countdown to this weekend's spectacular FREE family music and entertainment festival enters the final days.

Popular local acoustic tribute duo, Spark, and fresh new girl group, Tiger-S, have now been added to the evening music bill in Parliament Square this Saturday (August 25).

Oldham Live kicks off the August bank holiday weekend with great family daytime fun from 12 noon until 4pm.

This will be headlined by an interactive show from CBeebies’ longest-serving presenter Sid Sloane, plus an amazing puppet performance from Russ Brown and madcap antics and magic from Andy B.

Live music then gets underway from 6pm onwards with a dazzling line-up headlined by Britpop legends Dodgy, who will be showcasing hits like “Good Enough”, “Staying Out For The Summer” and “If You’re Thinking Of Me”.

Support acts include Owen Paul, who is famed for his huge 1986 hit “My Favourite Waste of Time”, and Ella Shaw, the 2015 Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist and successful singer-songwriter.

There will also be a 'Madchester’ anthems and Indie-themed DJ set from Revolution 96.2’s Dave Sweetmore, as well as a set from Sweet Female Attitude, whose massive number two chart hit “Flowers” in 2000 still remains a classic garage anthem.

Ace Oldham duo Spark

Spark, one of Oldham’s best known tribute duos, are now also bringing their guitar-led talents to the evening's entertainment, alongside girl group Tiger-S, who’ve already proved a big hit on this year’s summer festival circuit.

Sean Fielding, Oldham Council Leader, said: “I’m really looking forward to the return of Oldham Live – this is a great line-up and it should be a fantastic day of fun for all the family.

“We’ve now added some new acts to the bill and you can find out everything you need to know about the day on our website – including where to park, plus eating and drinking suggestions.

“Please spread the word ahead of Saturday.

"Tell your family, friends, and your neighbours so that you don’t miss out on the bank holiday fun with this spectacular FREE event.”
