Jon Stocker presents the Aldi vouchers to Tom Lewis-Hood from the Oldham Foodbank
Generous-spirited Saddleworth Rotary Club recognise despite falling inflation figures, there are still many people in Oldham finding it difficult to cope with current food prices at Christmas.
And the club has played Father Christmas to two worthy organisations whose mission is to help those in need.
The Rotary Club donated £500 in Aldi vouchers to the Oldham Foodbank for distribution at their discretion.
Jon Stocker, Rotary Club president, who presented the vouchers to Tom Lewis-Hood from the Foodbank, said: "It is always good to be able to support such a worthwhile charity, but we hope that this donation allow some families to have a better Christmas than they had imagined.
"We hope this will allow some of those most in need in our society to enjoy a happy Christmas."
Mr Lewis-Hood thanked the Rotary for their support.
And in a second presentation (see above), the Rotary Club gave the Salvation Army £500 in Aldi vouchers for their charitable work at Fitton Hill, The Brew, a community Café and hub, where the Salvation Army and volunteers provide support throughout the year.
Pictured presenting the vouchers to Neil Meuse at the Brew in Fitton Hill are Saddleworth Rotary Club President Jon Stocker and Vice President Clint Elliott.
Mr Stocker said: "We know the Salvation Army make a real difference here at Fitton Hill all year round.
"We hope that these vouchers will make Christmas a little better for some on this estate."
Mr Meuse also thanked the Rotary for their support.
