Delph welterweight Andy Kremner (25) led the way for the town, stopping fellow unbeaten prospect Ricky Rose in the fourth round after earlier flooring his opponent twice.

Kremner took his perfect record to nine wins from nine in the paid ranks, finishing off Stockport-born Rose with a devastating body shot.

The Delph tough guy posted on his Facebook page: “Great TKO win against another unbeaten kid.

“I would just like to thank everyone who came. Your support means the world.

“Massive thanks to (trainer) Matthew Hatton too, he’s really got me back on track.”

Seven of the fighters will taste defeat for the first time on the night as four three-round quarter-final bouts will be followed by two semi-finals and a final.

A prize pool of £50,000 will be on the table, while further bonus’s will be announced nearer to fight night.

Failsworth’s Danny Wright was also victorious at the Oldham show, as he was one of a hat-trick of winners for popular Middleton trainer Ben Lancaster.

Welterweight Wright (21) took his perfect pro record to eight wins from eight as he fully deserved a 60 points to 54 verdict against tough-as-teak Lithuanian Edvinas Puplauskas.

All six rounds were awarded to Wright as he comfortably saw off Puplauskas’s game challenge.

Next up for Wright is a slot on the undercard of the mouth-watering televised clash between Josh Warrington and Lee Selby at Leeds United’s Elland Road stadium on May 19.

Lancaster’s middleweight charge Jack Kilgannon secured an impressive stoppage win against Latvian Raimonds Sniedze to stretch his unbeaten pro stats to four wins from four, while super-lightweight Joe Eko defeated journeyman Kristian Laight on points over four rounds to secure his third professional victory.
