Award nomination boost for O'Neill's

The shop has not been open two years yet, but already O’Neill’s Barber House is making massive strides in the world of hairdressing and grooming.

Based on Ashton Road East in Failsworth, experienced barber Darren O’Neill opened up his own establishment in May, 2016, and he’s scarcely looked back since.

Business is booming, and Darren has now taken on apprentice Jack Froggatt.

Now O’Neill’s Barber House has been nominated for two top industry awards.

Darren has been nominated English Hair and Beauty’s north-west ‘Men’s Stylist of the Year’ award, while the shop is up for the ‘Barbers of the Year’ prize.

Winners will be announced at a swanky presentation ceremony at the Mercure Hotel in Manchester on March 25.

Darren said: “This is a real achievement for myself and the team.

“We are very proud because we only opened our doors less than two years ago.

“I attended these awards in 2015 as a representative of one of Manchester’s well-known male grooming companies which picked up the ‘Barbers of The Year’ award, so for me this is a massive deal as I know what kind of industry leading names I’m going to be up against.

“To just to share the stage as a nominee is going to be a great feeling.

“What an achievement this would be if we were to win either award.

“That’s not just for me or the business, but for the local community.”
