A SUPER street cleaner who keeps Hollinwood clean and tidy has been nominated for a Pride in Oldham award.
Edward Szwandt, from Limeside, is employed by Oldham Council Street cleaning department and has been working in the same job for the past 13 years.
His weekly route sees him walking all over Hollinwood, Limeside and Garden Suburb making sure the streets are clear of rubbish and the community stays litter free.
Local resident William Fleet, from Hollins, was so impressed with the exceptional attention to detail in Edward's daily work that he decided to nominate him for the award.
He said: "I've seen him at work and he does a terrific job and takes real pride in his work. His round is impeccable and he goes beyond what is called of him.
"He is neat, organised and is a real credit to his department as well as the borough of Oldham."
Edward (40) admitted he was very surprised to have been nominated for his hard work but was thrilled to accept it.
He said: "It feels great to have been nominated.
"I've worked for the council's street cleaning department for 13 years across many districts.
"I try to do my best in my work, I always have done, and I like to talk to people while on my round, so quite a few local residents know me now."
