A DEDICATED care worker has been nominated for Pride in Oldham 2014 after offering a loving home to a young woman in care since she was 13.

Sue Fox was suggested for the award by Charlotte Buckley, who moved in to her home 18 months ago.

Charlotte (23) has learning difficulties but from Sue has received a level of care and affection she had always craved

She said: “She’s absolutely perfect. She’s the best carer I’ve had in my life. She does so well — she’s awesome.”

Ms Fox, who works from the Ena Hughes Centre in Failsworth, has worked in healthcare all her life, but began her current role 10 years ago.

After discovering she had been nominated, she said: “I think this is the first proper home Charlotte feels comfortable living in, having been in care all her life.

“It’s quite daunting at first but it’s very rewarding. It’s not just a job, it becomes part of your life. I support people of ages ranging from 17-70. To hear that someone appreciates what I do is the nicest feeling in the world.”
