TALENTED singer Keeley Berry has raised thousands of pounds for causes that have touched the hearts of the local community.

The 26 year old performed at a fundraising concert in memory of toddler Jamie Heaton afrter his death in the Shaw gas explosion in 2012. She also arranged and performed at a concert to help the family of Royton youngster Tehyah Solan-Clarke who suffered massive brain damage after a series of strokes when she was four.

Single mum Keeley fits her fundraising into a full-time office job at an Oldham nightclub and caring after her two children, Logan (2) and Liberty (3).

“There is nothing we could do for the loss of Jamie and for Tehyah, but I wanted to help the family in any way I could,” said Keeley, who started raising money for charity after her mum, Wendy, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her first concert raised £2,000 for the Christie Hospital

Keeley was moved to help Tehyah’s family because the little girl is similar age to her own daughter. “It’s just heartbreaking; I just wanted to do something,” she said.

But modest Keeley was shocked to be nominated for a Pride in Oldham award by her mum. “I don’t know what to say — I am getting teary.

“I just love doing it. It’s very rewarding.”
