Water result! Lisa up for award

AQUACISE instructor Lisa Dudley has made a big splash with her customers - so much so that one has nominated her for a Pride in Oldham award.

Lisa (33), from Royton, has been employed with Oldham Community Leisure since 2002 and teaches water aerobics at Saddleworth Pool every Thursday.

Her weekly class of 35 young-at-heart regulars get fit and have fun to the sound of the Sixties - and enjoy a bit of banter with their teacher.

Inspiration

One class member Chloe Bissell nominated Lisa for the award because of the enthusiasm she brings to the class.

She said: "Lisa is a real inspiration.

"We are all pensioners and she plays brilliant music that has us all singing.

"She is really entertaining and is always smiling, cheering us up as well as helping us to exercise.

"I would love her to be recognised for her work because it is much more than a job to her."

Mother-of-two Lisa, who is also a gym instructor and takes classes at leisure centres in Chadderton and Middleton, said she was "surprised and overwhelmed" to be nominated for a Pride in Oldham award.

She said: "The aquacise class is always full and is a really fun class to teach.

"We have a bit of banter because they see me around the centre and know me from other classes. It's lovely to get this nomination."
