Young defender Jamie Stott has signed a two-year contract extension with Athletic, with the option of a third year.
The 20-year-old, who joined the club aged eight and has progressed through the youth academy, has made four senior appearances for Athletic since signing professionally in 2016.
On his debut, Stott earned the man of the match award as Athletic beat derby rivals Bolton Wanderers 1-0 at Boundary Park in April, 2017.
Stott enjoyed loan spells away from the club last season, notably helping Stockport County reach the National League North play-offs before being recalled by Athletic.
Stott’s new contract runs until the end of the 2019/20 season.
