A brilliant night at The Peacock Room, Crimble Cottage

On Wednesday 29th July we visited The Peacock Room in Rochdale, for the second time due to popular demand. The atmosphere and ambience were spot on and the staff were brilliant. Every staff member was tentative, helpful and polite.

The Restaurant Manager (Cyril) and the Maitre D' greeted us at the door, which was a lovely touch.

A large number of tables had been pre-booked for our regular diners and new guests to “Come Dine with Us”.

Everyone was seated straight away as they entered the dining room.

The overall opinion of the diners was the professionalism of the staff as well as the beautiful laid out tables and comfortable chairs. The two chandeliers are the main focus in the dining room, which gives it a feel of luxury.

We were given a choice of starters beforehand but my colleague and I started with homemade cream of pea soup with a hot finger of ham in crusty breadcrumbs, which was loooovely!!

This was followed by slow cooked belly of pork with spring cabbage; butter poached carrots and a quince sauce served with fondant potatoes.

We completed the meal with a choice of sweets and a glass of wine.

Dianne Maxwell a newcomer on “Come Dine With Us” evening commented, “This was my first visit with The Oldham Chronicle and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and excellent value for money. I would definitely book another event - can’t wait.

“I would recommend the dining out evening to anyone.”

Cyril and all the staff did a brilliant job and made the visit such a memorable night, overall we had a fantastic evening.

Our next “Come Dine With Us” evening will be held on Wednesday 26th August at Istanblue Restaurant, Royton.
