Tommyfield Parkit

Oldham's World Famous outdoor Tommyfield Market is to be moved and redeveloped.
It is proposed the existing site be redeveloped whilst new gazebo-type stalls be erected on Curzon Street and Albion Street in its place. Shoppers in Oldham town centre, when asked by our reporters today, showed little concern for these changes.
John Agnew, 42, a regular lifelong user of the market stated: "I've heard of these proposals. Over the years I've seen many changes. If there's an improvement then all the better but otherwise it won't make much difference."
This feeling of customer apathy represented the general mood in the town centre.
A lady out shopping in Albion Street, Liz confirmed she did not know about the plans.
However, upon being informed, she had this to say: "It might offer more than it does now. Hopefully it will attract more people." Overall there have been no direct customer opposals to the plans.
