A SPARKLING seasonal celebration of light filled Saddleworth again this year thanks to the dedicated residents and business who entered Saddleworth Illuminations 2016.

A whole host of houses, hostelries, businesses and back yards were filled with lights and decorations ready to be judged by as part of the festive competition.

Members of the judging panel, which included Saddleworth Parish Council chairman Councillor Pam Byrne, council clerk Pamela Bailey and vice chairman Councillor Nikki Kirkham, spent two days touring the area to visit all the nominated sites.

A spokeswoman for Saddleworth Parish Council said standards were very high again this year with winners receiving a trophy and a certificate.
