Memories of charity requested for book

A HOMELESS charity in Mossley has called on residents to share stories of its history as it marks 20 years.

Emmaus Mossley is on the look-out for contributions from anyone with a former connection to the Longlands Mill charity.

The findings of the Emmaus Mossley History Project are set to be compiled and published in a book which will be released later this year.

Chairwoman Frances Hirst said: "If you have a recollection you would like to share, we would love to hear from you.

"This could be a fond memory you have, a piece about your involvement in the charity or a funny event that happened at Emmaus Mossley.

"We are open to any contribution you may have."

Emmaus Mossley supports 26 formerly homeless people by providing them with a home and work opportunity in a community setting.

Friends, supporters, customers, previous companions and volunteers who have shaped the charity are asked to come forward.

Valued

Whether residents helped raise money to kickstart Emmaus, visited the first shop in Manchester Road, or helped to refurbish the Longlands Mill base, every offering is valued.

A number of special birthday events are also scheduled for March and September, including an anniversary sale and celebration.
