'Opportunity to vote for change'

UKIP has selected a candidate for Oldham East and Saddleworth in this year's General Election.

Oldham UKIP chairman Ian Bond is hoping to be elected on June 8 in the seat currently held by Labour MP Debbie Abrahams.

Mr Bond (30) is a final-year law student who lives locally with his wife and four children.

He said: "I am delighted to have been selected for stand for UKIP in Oldham East and Saddleworth.

"I believe that Oldham East and Saddleworth deserves an elected representative who will have 100 per cent focus on the constituency; a representative who will listen to concerns of constituents, no matter who they vote for, and offer them a strong voice in Westminster.

"UKIP are the only party to campaign for Brexit, and are the only party whose members are unanimously behind making it a success. I want to help deliver the true and real Brexit Oldham voted 61 per cent in favour of.

"UKIP are the only party offering real change for the UK, from democratic reform of the House of Lords to replacing the current First Past the Post system with Proportional Representation. UKIP want to rebuild our armed forces, introduce MP Recall and cut foreign aid, investing the savings into the NHS.

"This election is an opportunity for the people of Oldham East and Saddleworth to vote for change. An opportunity to vote for UKIP."
