HELP protect your neighbourhood by attending the Lees and Hey Homewatch Group, held at Lees Library on Wednesday from 7.30pm.
A RECORD £2,150 was made at the Saddleworth Ladies’ Lifeboat Guild’s Annual Cream Tea, held at Uppermill Civic Hall earlier this month, as 150 well-wishers gathered for the occasion. DONATE towards the £11,000 needed to give Saddleworth youngster Haaris Mirza new hearing processors, by attending a charity night at Boarshurst Band Club on Friday, August 2, from 7.30pm. Entertainment, disco and food. Tickets, priced £10 for adults and £5 for children, available from Greenfield Post Office.
DOBCROSS Silver Band has announced the appointment of a new musical director. Tim Sidwell has been given the role after a series of auditions. He previously worked with Crofton Silver Band, and for the last five years has played with Championship band Hepworth. The band still has vacancies on cornet, euphonium and tuba.
MEN from Saddleworth will soon benefit from an Age UK Oldham initiative to tackle loneliness and isolation in old age. The Men in Sheds Greenfield project will try to improve the health and well-being of men over 55 living in Saddleworth and Lees. The first session will be held on Thursday, with a free lunch. THE Church Fundraising Fashion Show held at St Mary’s, Greenfield, back in June raised £602. The money will be put towards equipment and maintenance in the church.
