Comedy night

AN adult, over 18s comedy night is the final fundraising event of the year from Saddleworth Women’s Institute in aid of Oldham Bereavement Support Service.

The WI takes over the longstanding “Off the Rails” comedy night at the Royal George, Greenfield on June 21. Tickets cost £10 in advance from www.sad dleworthcomedy.co.uk or tel 07866-541560.


“BAD Ass Brass”, some of the UK’s finest brass players and jazz musicians from the London music scene, play at Dobcross Band and Social Club tomorrow, at 8pm. Entry is £4, followed by the England v Italy World Cup match on the big screen at 11pm. The England v Uruguay World Cup match is also being screened at the club on Thursday, June 19, at 8pm, with free entry.


LOVE Lydgate is running a poetry event on Monday in the Oak room at the White Hart.

A FRIENDS coffee morning is held at Saddleworth Museum, Uppermill, on the second Wednesday of the month, from 10.30am to 12.30pm. A farmers’ market and craft fair is held on the second Sunday, from 9am to 3pm.


Bounce and rhyme are free weekly sessions for babies aged 0 to 18 months. Enjoy songs, stories, rhymes, sensory play and musical instruments at Greenfield Library, on Fridays from 10.15-11am, Lees Library on Mondays 2-3pm and Uppermill Library, Thursdays 10-11am.
