A GREENFIELD businesswoman has been overwhelmed by the local response to a fundraising event in memory of her great nephew.
Gwen Fletcher organised a wine and cheese evening at her craft shop in Chew Valley Road to honour 12-year-old Isaac Nash.
Isaac was swept out to sea on holiday on Anglesey in August. His brother Xander (10) was saved. Isaac’s body has never been found.
Since the tragedy more than £11,400 has been raised in Isaac’s memory. The aim is to raise £100,000 to build a skate park near Isaac’s family home in Huddersfield.
Gwen (53) said: “We’re all really heartbroken. We’re struggling with it. Isaac was a really lovely boy. He only had 12 years but he packed them full with activity.”
