Former golf club captain on child-sex charges

A FORMER captain of Saddleworth Golf Club has admitted charges involving sexual activity with a child.
Timothy Edwards (58), from Dobcross, had been facing a trial this month after initially denying five separate counts.
At Manchester’s Minshull Street Crown Court yesterday however, he entered guilty pleas to three of the charges.
Prosecutor Barrie Darby told the court the pleas were acceptable to the Crown.
Tina Landale, defending, asked for an adjournment so a probation service report can be prepared.
Edwards, who faces three additional charges nvolving sexual activity with a child, will be sentenced on January 29, 2015.
