FRIENDS of Saddleworth Museum are seeking villagers to open their homes and act as hosts during a week of painting outdoors featuring international artists.

SNAP UP a bargain as the Saddleworth Independents hold a flea market on March 29 at the Civic Hall in Uppermill from 10am-3pm. Admission is 50p and refreshments will be served all day. To book a stall call: 01457 875353.



JOIN Grotton Residents’ Association for its annual spring clean of litter across the village on April 11 from 10am to noon. The group will tidy the areas around The Pavilion, Station Road, and the banks of the stream below. Call Kath Hodges on 0161-624 1905 for more.



FUN sessions of chatting, music, reminiscence and storytelling will be held for people with memory problems and their carers. The sessions will be held on March 11 and 25 from 11am to noon at the Hanging Gate pub in Diggle.



ENJOY a spring concert from The Oldham Band (Lees) at Denshaw Village Hall on March 27 at 7.45pm. In aid of the Denshaw Whit Friday Band Contest, tickets are £5 on the door or from the Village Hall or the Oddfellows.
