Mikron Theatre Company performs “Raising Agents” — marking 100 years of the Women’s Institute — at The Swan, Dobcross, on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week (8pm). Tickets cost £11.



A COFFEE morning held by The Friends of Saddleworth Museum takes place next Wednesday, from 10.30am to 12.30pm. Admission £1.50.



JOIN Grotton Residents’ Association for its annual spring clean of litter across the village on Saturday, April 11, from 10am to noon. The group will tidy up the areas around The Pavilion, Station Road, or on the banks of the stream below.



HELP to keep Greenfield tidy by joining a litter pick organised by Street Scene Greenfield on Saturday, April 11. Volunteers should meet at Boarshurst Band Club at 10am where equipment will be provided. The litter pick lasts until noon.



THE new Denshaw Table Tennis Club is looking for players. On Mondays, between 6-8pm, serious players interested in seeing Denshaw enter a league competition are invited. On Thursdays, between 7.30-8.30pm, there is training for youngsters. Contact Gary Kershaw on 07940-529 655 for details.



SADDLEWORTH Historical Society holds an illustrated presentation by Victor Khadem entitled “Folklore, Landscape & Society in Bottomley’s Greenfield: a Poem”, on Wednesday, April 8, at 7.30pm, at Saddleworth Museum Gallery, Uppermill. Non-members must pay £3.



THE next Saddleworth Farmers’ market takes place on Sunday, April 12, from 9am-2pm. Teas will be provided by the Saddleworth Tea Company. The market takes places every second Sunday of the month.
