Double trouble for twins’ nursery group

MEMBERS of a mum and baby group for twins and triplets have been forced to find a new home - with only a week’s notice.

Peapods meets at Saddleworth North and South Childrens Centre at Holy Trinity School in Dobcross, every Thursday morning. Six families go every week, several others less regularly.

The group has been told the school needs the classroom it uses for its own nursery provision and they can’t be accommodated elsewhere - so they are now on the lookout for a new base.

Louise Glendenning, from Austerlands, is mum to two-year-old twins Jack and Sam. She joined Peapods when she was pregnant. She said: “This group has been an absolute lifeline for me. I have made some truly great friends who understand what having twins is like. Multiple birth families require special support to be able to meet the unique challenges we face.”

Group leader Mel Smith started going to Peapods when her twins Daniel and Jake were one.

“They are now six and at school but she still goes to help out.

She said: “If anyone knows of any suitable locations for us to hold our group sessions, they can contact me on 07796-947 936.”
