LAST respects . . . Sami Achour
THE funeral of a Diggle teenager killed in a car crash last month is being held tomorrow afternoon.
Sami Achour (17) died when the car in which he was a passenger was involved in a collision in Greenfield Road, which runs out of Greenfield towards Holmfirth.
The 17 year old’s funeral will be held at Valley View Cemetery prior to a memorial service at St Chad’s Church and a wake at Diggle Band Club.
Sami, an IT and web student who had been enjoying the first weeks of a new course at Hopwood Hall College in Middleton, was a back-seat passenger in a VW Polo which ended up on its side in a ditch after a collision with an Audi A3 and a camper van.
A police investigation continues. An 18-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
The service for Sami starts at 3pm at Valley View Cemetery, Church Lane, Uppermill.
