Dementia help

AN information and support programme for carers of people in and around Uppermill who have had a diagnosis of dementia is on offer.

It takes place every Tuesday for three weeks, starting from March 1, 1- 3.30pm at Uppermill Civic Hall, Lee Street. The sessions offer the opportunity to meet and talk with staff and participants. To book your place contact: 0161-962 4788.


GREEN-FINGERED residents are invited to join a new group to find out more and grow their own food. The Greenfield Growers will meet every Wednesday, 11am-3pm at Tanners Mill, Greenfield, led by community interest company Adventure Based Learning. PICK up a treat at the farmers’ market in Uppermill Square on Sunday, 9am-2pm. The market boasts produce from local suppliers, including cheeses and pies. It has temporarily moved from its base at Saddleworth Museum while renovation works are carried out.


ENJOY coffee mornings with the Scouthead and Austerlands Community Association on the third Thursday of each month at the Three Crowns Inn and Restaurant, Huddersfield Road, 10.30am-12.30pm, including a raffle.


COFFEE afternoons are being held at Christ Church Friezland every Thursday, 2-4pm. The Friezland Coffee Shop team will serve freshly brewed coffee, tea and biscuits and aim to provide a welcoming and friendly environment.


A Robbie Williams tribute night at Dobcross Band and Social Club raised £820 for the Dobcross Whit Friday United effort.


A LIVE jazz night is held every Friday at Delph Band Club. All are welcome to the weekly event from 8pm onwards.
