Date published: 07 June 2016
THE sun shone on Diggle as the blues met the greenery.
Music fans lapped up the pleasant weather and the tunes during the seventh Diggle Blues Festival from Thursday to Sunday.
It was a musical tour of the small Saddleworth village as 11 talented artists played at various venues from the canalside cabins of Grandpa Greene's and cosy Woolyknit Cafe to Diggle Band Club and Kilngreen Hall.
Organisers made it a retrospective year, picking out 11 of the past popular acts, including John Otway, Tom Attah, BluzeBox, and Mike Sweeney and Paddy O'Hare with the Collective.
