LOCAL youngsters went head-to-head at the weekend as the 12th Oldham Borough Games proved to be a big hit once again.
Oldham Council's Sport Development team hosted the event on June 25 at Failsworth School, Failsworth Sports Centre and Failsworth Soccer Centre.
The games sees six districts of Oldham - Chadderton; Failsworth and Hollinwood; Royton, Shaw and Crompton; East Oldham; West Oldham; and Saddleworth and Lees - compete against each other.
Each have local primary schools representing them in competition against the other districts.
There were 42 teams from 35 different schools, competing in seven sports: athletics, dance, girls' football, boys' football, handball, rounders and tag Rugby.
The overall winning district was West Oldham.
