OLDHAM security monitoring company PARFAS has appointed three new members of staff amid business expansion.

The firm provides security monitoring services for industrial and commercial premises, including car showrooms, medical centres and licensed premises. Its Lees Road base includes a 24-hour monitoring station.

Phil Thomas has been brought in to head the operation and business support team, while Carol Thomas has joined the monitoring station and Leanne Ordano is in the business administration department.

Mr Thomas (58), from Leyland, has over 25 years security and safety industry experience covering fire safety, CCTV systems, access control and intruder alarms.

Mr Thomas said: "My strengths lie in organisation and project management, so this job is ideal. I'm looking forward to helping PARFAS grow and further embrace new technology."

Mrs Thomas (56), from Greenacres, attended Royton and Crompton School and later ran the Flower Pot Inn in Royton.

Mrs Ordano (35), from Limeside, has joined on a temporary contract to assist with a new CASH service management database. A former Kaskenmoor School pupil and mother-of-four, she was introduced to PARFAS through the Get Oldham Working programme. She said: "I wanted a new start so I studied at Oldham Lifelong Learning Centre and now I'm pleased to be able to use the qualifications I gained for this new role at PARFAS."

Mike Braddock, chief executive of PARFAS, who was named Business Person of the Year at the 2017 Oldham Business Awards, said: "As the business is expanding we needed to create new roles. This is a key time. We are consolidating our past, building on our strengths and investing in the business. Phil is picking-up the operational mantle and will be a great addition.

"Carol is working in our monitoring station on a shift system, as we operate 24 hours a day, while Leanne will be assisting by inputting data into a new database system we have invested in."
