CELEBRATING ten years in business, Web Applications UK Ltd. has announced three contract wins worth in excess of £2 million.

Established in 2000 by software developers Lee Tudor and Gordon Pearce, the business moved into new premises at Gravel Walks, Mumps, in 2009 and has confirmed itself as a major player in the Oldham IT community.

Web Applications was set up by Lee, from Oldham, and Gordon, from Littleborough to develop leading-edge reservation systems and e-commerce travel applications.

The full-time workforce of 45 — which is often swollen beyond 50 by work placements and trainees — is now working on three new projects associated with the travel, hospitality and leisure industries.

The national Trust has awarded the business a contract to overhaul the current IT system and create a bespoke booking and ticketing system. Hoseasons, the holiday company, has been rebranded by its new American owners the Wyndham Corporation and Web Applications has won a £1 million contract to overhaul the reservations systems.

The third contract, which Web Applications chief executive Craig Dan cannot name for commercially sensitive reasons, is also in the holiday industry and involves the creation of a bespoke ticketing and reservations system.

Mr Dean said: “These are exciting times as we complete 10 years in business. To confirm new sales and business in excess of £2 million in the first eight months of our financial year is excellent news for all the staff.”

To celebrate the 10th anniversary, all of the staff and their partners are to enjoy a murder mystery dinner at a hotel.
