FREE advice is available to employers in Oldham concerned about the welfare of of their workers.

Kate Harcus, a business adviser at Groundwork Oldham, delivered this message when she hosted a Wellbeing in the Workplace breakfast, sharing the platform with Tom Maloney from the Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust, Oldham Community Health Services, at The Environment Centre, Shaw Road, Higginshaw.

Delegates learned of the benefits of caring for employees and heard from Kate that free training through a stress awareness project is available. Mr Maloney, a physical activity head, reinforced the message that new National Wellbeing Standards, recently launched, help organisations demonstrate their commitment to the health of their staff.

In addition to a healthy breakfast, there was information about health initiatives such as weight management, physical activities and mental wellbeing support plus the opportunity to find out a bit about your own health, with experts on hand to measure blood pressure.
