Oldham-BASED Patterson and Rothwell has acquired 146,000 sq ft of manufacturing, distribution and office facilities at a site in Ashton.
The new facility, formerly home to the Barcrest Group, sits on a 4.81-acre site in Margaret Street.
Toolmaking and injection-moulding specialists P&R Ltd, based at Mount Peasant Trading Estate, Lees Road, Oldham, will consolidate several group businesses to Ashton, but P&R will remain in Oldham said managing director Alan Rothwell.
Dekko Window Systems, a sister company of the Patterson and Rothwell Group, will move into Ashton from its current headquarters in Bredbury as will 4D Enterprises, of Shaw, set up by P&R when the Remploy site at Bardsley was closed by the Government.
Uppermill man Gary Torr, managing director of Dekko, said: “Dekko has seen significant growth in sales since its inception six years ago. Its current facility is becoming a constraint. We are delighted the new site will aid our expansion plans.”
Lee Tilley, director of Patterson and Rothwell, added: “We are looking to start with around 150 jobs on the site and to create up to a further 100 jobs over the next five years.
“We have been growing our product range over the past few years and seeing increasing success.”
P&R Ltd is also relocating and has acquired the former Carpenter Group premises in Shaw Road, Royton.
