Top tips at business breakfast

A FORMER Royton entrepreneur is to share his top tips with local businessmen.

Bill Holroyd CBE, founder and chairman of North-West charity OnSide, will lead business speakers at an open breakfast event at Hopwood Hall College’s Middleton Campus.

Mr Holroyd is the former CEO of food and drink distribution business Holroyd Meek, which employed over 1,000 people at Salmon Fields. The company, sold to Booker Group plc in 1995, is now part of a huge distribution network servicing restaurants, pubs and service stations nationwide.

Mr Holroyd was also an investor and chairman of the Millie’s Cookies chain. He is currently a director of AO.com which recently floated on the London stock exchange in the largest e-commerce Initial Public Offering in four years.

Fellow event speaker Stephen Frazer, of Frazer Hall Mergers and Acquisitions, will discuss top tips on buying and selling businesses while Sue Warburton, of Growth Accelerator, will provide advice and information on the support available to help ambitious local businesses grow.
