AN Oldham technology business is celebrating after being recognised as one of the top 200 private companies in Britain for international sales growth.

Innovative Technology appears in the latest Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200 league table which ranks Britain’s mid-market private companies with the fastest-growing international sales, measured over their latest two years of available accounts.

Derker-based Innovative Technology designs and manufactures cash validation equipment for global clients across the gaming, retail, banking, kiosk, vending and ticketing sectors. Its cash handling machines are also approved by the European Central Bank

Making its debut in the list, the Oldham firm is ranked 113th after generating £26.4million of international sales in 2014, representing overseas sales growth of 30 per cent.

The firm’s finance director, Tom Pennington-Brookfield, said “We’re extremely proud to have been recognised in the International Track 200 in our first year of entering. The listing is a fantastic recognition of our continuing growth and expanding global footprint.

“Over the last 12 months we have opened offices in the Asia-Pacific region, Italy and the United States, giving us nine offices across five continents and helping us become a truly global company.”

Earlier this year, Innovative Technology opened a new 3,300 sq metre head office and global development facility at Innovative Business Park in Derker.

Aidan Towey, managing director, added: “This recognition is a credit to all of our 270 staff worldwide who ensure that our cash-handling product range stays at the forefront of technical innovation.

“Our strategy of investing heavily in new technology, our people and state-of-the-art research and development and head office facilities has paid dividends.

“To ensure we maintain our market leading position, and build on this success we will continue to move into new geographies and new markets.

“To do this we’re creating new highly skilled jobs for electronic, software and mechanical engineers, physicists and mathematicians. We need more highly-skilled people to develop the products of the future.”

The latest Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200, features 27 North-West companies which have made a significant contribution to the regional economy over the last two years. This is an increase of 26 last year.

The highest-ranked North-West company is online fashion retailer Missguided. Other top northern performers include Yorkshire cheesemaker Wensleydale Dairy Products.
